The Riva Boat

Synonymous with design and quality, with heritage that no other manufacturer can match, the first Riva launched in 1842 when a carpenter named Pietro Riva began mending damaged boats for fishermen.

Built on their shipyard on Lake d’Iseo, Lombardy, Riva’s legacy can be seen in its attention to detail, strong, technical skill and innovative engineering.

Every boat comes in a different colour, every screw is hand-painted in that same palette. They apply 20-22 coats of paint. It takes 45 months to complete each boat. All the wood used in the decking is hand-planed and assembled by local craftsmen. The variety of leather used depends on the variety of wood chosen – mahogany, walnut or elm. The furnishings on the yacht are its key features – a sundeck, leather sofas and wooden dashboard.

It is the unique qualities and advanced engineering of each boat that has attracted its cult celebrity following and makes Riva such a coveted design model.
