AMAN

We teamed up with the luxury travel company Aman to showcase five of their exquisite destinations.

Amanruya

Located on the south-eastern Aegean coast of Turkey, Amanruya is named after the Sanskrit-derived word for peace, ‘aman’, and the Turkish word for dream, ‘ruya’ and is surrounded by ancient olive groves and Mediterranean pine forest, which cloaks the hills in the background.

The perfect hideaway, Amanruya has the intimate and organic ambience of a village in a picturesque natural setting. Pebbled pathways lead from the main buildings to the 36 Pool Terrace Cottages, each with its own private garden and swimming pool, with stunning views across the forests and coastline. Designed to welcome and soothe, the cottages are gracious homes away from home. For more information, I have attached the e-brochure "here"

AMANJIWO

Amanjiwo, enveloped by the rainforest of central Java, is set within a natural amphitheatre – where the Menoreh Hills rise up nearby and the farmlands of the Kedu Plain spread below steep volcanoes on the horizon. The resort faces the Kedu Plain, and offers clear views to Borobudur, the largest Buddhist sanctuary in the world.

Guests catch their first glimpse of the ancient monument, dramatically framed by the resort’s regal entrance, on arrival at the resort. At dawn and dusk the jungle surrounding this majestic 9th-century UNESCO World Heritage site is bathed in ethereal light and birdsong – perfect for personal reflection. AMAN SVETI STEFAN

Attached to the coast by a narrow isthmus, this charming seaside hideaway pairs cobbled lanes, shaded courtyards and 600-year-old red-tiled roofs with three pink-sand beaches and the august Villa Milocer on the mainland.

A fortified village dating back to the 15th century, Aman Sveti Stefan’s Cottages are accessed via stone footpaths and staircases designed to follow the organic contours of the island. Each Room, Cottage and Suite is unique. For more information, I have attached the e-brochure "here"

AMANSARA

Encircled by forests and rice paddies, Angkor’s ruins are the last vestiges of the Khmer Empire. Explore more than 1,000 temples from Amansara’s location near the archaeological park, including Angkor Wat, Bayon and Banteay Srei.

Set within the UNESCO-protected Angkor Archaeological Park, the Khmer Village House overlooks the 10th-century pool of Srah Srang. Available only to Amansara guests, it is a serene spot for a private picnic or a romantic dinner. This former royal guesthouse sets low-slung chalets around its curved pool and shady lawn. Quintessentially 1960s in character, the Laurent Mondet-designed garden compound is complemented perfectly by its vintage Mercedes limousine. AMANPULO

erulean sky and turquoise sea merge at Amanpulo, a whisper-quiet private island retreat in the Philippines. Part of the Cuyo Archipelago, northeast of Palawan Island, guests arrive by private plane to the island’s own airstrip. Amanpulo’s powdery white-sand beach stretches the full 6.5-kilometre perimeter of the island, enclosing an unspoilt tropical wilderness.

A coral reef awaits exploration just offshore in the pristine waters of the Sulu Sea. Each Casita at Amanpulo offers a seamless transition between indoors and out embellished with the country’s rich natural resources: coconut-shell tables, pebble-washed walls, Cebu marble bathtubs and beds with rattan headboards.
